Scam Alert - LMBL does NOT want you to send any money

Jun. 29, 2023

An unfortunate side effect of having a website and posting contact information is that scammers harvest our names and email addresses.  Typically, they will send an email that has the name of someone on the executive (usually president or treasurer) to other people who are listed as contacts for LMBL or associations on the website.  The email address is nonsense and will not match our real email addresses.  They will ask for a cheque or etransfer for something that sounds plausible.

Lakeland Minor Ball does NOT collect random money from associations or players!  We cannot even accept etransfers.  If you receive a request for money, step one should be checking whether the email address matches our real email addresses.  Please feel free to check in with us if you aren't sure.  If we have sent you a legitimate request for funds (and there are very few situations where LMBL collects funds anyway), we will just ask again if you accidentally delete a legitimate request because you thought it was a scam.
